Flints Mud

A thick fire retardent waterbone texture that is perfect for creating stage landscapes. Flints Mud dries to a tough but flexible finish - cloths textured with Flints Mud can be rolled up for transport. Perfect for theming work in museums or theme parks. The slightly soft surface is quiet to walk on and comfartable to sit on making it great for opera use. Apply with a gloved hand, trowel, stiff brush or airless spray onto canvas, underfelt, polystyrene or almost any substrate. Additional texture such as foam crumbs can be added to the Mud to vary the texture and the colour can be varied by adding concentrated liquid pigments. It can also be smeared into artificial grass to break up monotonous areas. Specification, coverage approximately 1 square metre per litre resulting in a dry film thickness of 0.5mm. Drying times Our tests show that Flints Mud dries in a similar time to Idenden. If trying to achieve a thickness greater than 2mm we suggest applying in two coats where possible. If applying to a scrimmed surface ensure that it is completely dry throughout before applying the mud, otherwise the drying time will be severley retarded. Colour is approximately pantone 4625 U.
